One of the most important topics we researched as we prepped for this dream was school options. We in no way wanted to negatively affect the kids schooling with this journey, and wanted to ensure that whenever we decide to come back to land that they are able to slot back seamlessly into a school system in the US. Thanks to Covid years, the online private schools have hugely enhanced and so we have found some good options for the kids (we believe).
Annabelle is a freshman in High school and we chose Laurel Springs Academy for her schooling. She has the option of unlimited electives which she is excited about, and has access to a huge range of subjects. So far 2 months in, she has pivoted into this way of asynchonous work quite seamlessly.
Oscar has gone into Fourth grade, and for him and Bethan we chose Calvert Academy. He too is online and we are supporting him if necessary and he has a teacher that he can drop in with at any time as well. Bethan is First grade, and her curriculum is paper based and so we have workbooks to go through.
